While at Emerson, Scott studied abroad in Holland where, as an
extracurricular ambitious exercise, he discovered his passion for
directing. He directed and produced Yasmina Reza’s "Art" which propelled him to direct
three other plays at Emerson, including his senior Honors thesis, "The
Storyteller". "The Storyteller" is an evening of five short original plays by Lyndsay Barrett, inspired by contemporary news articles, all dealing with
issues of terrorism. Working on "The Storyteller" furthered Scott’s love for
socially relevant, thought provoking theatre as well as developing and
nurturing new plays. After graduation, Scott worked as an intern for
Director’s Lab West at the
Pasadena Playhouse, and later attended
DirectorsLabChicago
the following summer.
In his last semester at Emerson, Scott wrote "The Banker’s Baby", a one-act
play for which he built hand-puppets and performed for two nights at the
Puppet Showplace in Brookline, MA.
Scott is also a skilled close-up card magician. He attended six summers at
Tannen’s Magic Camp during his childhood and has applied his magical talents
to various theatrical productions.
He sincerely hopes that everyone in their lifetime can have a life-altering
theatre experience.
